Golden Century Seafood Restaurant on Sussex Street in the Chinatown district has gone into administration after serving Sydneysiders for 31 years.
Frequented by politicians and anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Chinese food experience, the eatery was famed for its wall-to-wall crab and lobster tanks.
The restaurant has appointed Chifley Advisory as administrators with a creditors meeting set to take place on August 27.
Speaking to news.com.au, liquidator Desmond Teng from Chifley Advisory said the restaurant went into administration on August 17 af…
McDonald’s restaurants across Fiji have announced on social media that due to global shipping issues, some of the fan favourites will be off the menu.
From the Big Mac to the cheeseburger, Quarter Pounder and even McFeast — “valued customers” may be forced to dine on a Filet-O-Fish instead during their next visit to the golden arches.
“Please note the unavailability of beef patty products at our restaurants till further notice,” the post read.

The movies embattled Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi has managed to make in the past decade or so—beginning with the 2011 This Is Not a Film and winding toward his latest, No Bears—are models of ingenuity, a multi-project study in the fortitude of the creative spirit. But as playful and inventive as these movies have sometimes been, they’re not always easy to watch, and No Bears, in particular, shows an artist fighting despair in the face of governmental tyranny. From the time of his initial arrest in 2010 (the Iranian government’s charge was “propaganda against the system”) until this past summer, Panahi had been largely confined to his home, a condition of the six-year prison sentence he’d received. He’d also be…
If your long-awaited travel plans ever suddenly get canceled, as mine did a few weeks ago thanks to our annual holiday COVID surge, I recommend consoling yourself with the virtual vacation that is The Traitors. Set in a picturesque Scottish castle and hosted by Alan Cumming—whose bright, plaid ensembles can only be described as Highlands glam—the Peacock reality competition became a cult hit when it debuted last winter. Now I know why. Confined to my couch, I devoured not just the American Traitors, but also the British and Australian versions. And I came away wishing the stateside incarnation, whose second season premieres on Jan 12., would take some lessons from its superior overseas counterparts.
Every version of the show combines the mechanics of the pa…
Cannibals are the ultimate drama queens. Forget vegans, the lactose intolerant, those who remain vigilant against gluten: No one has to worry more than a cannibal about where the next meal is coming from. Beyond that, cannibal love poses additional problems. How to broach the subject of this dietary proclivity with someone you’re attracted to? Or is it better to associate only with your kind, to break bread—or whatever—only with those wholly in tune with your needs and impulses?
Luca Guadagnino’s Bones and All, playing at the 79th Venice Film Festival, pleads sympathy for those who crave human flesh: in the movie’s universe, they’re tragic figures, a little like vampires but not nearly as sexy, people who didn’t ask to be born wit…
Over the last decade and a half, no family has dominated the conversation around beauty ideals quite like the Kardashian and Jenner family. From their exaggerated curves to their noticeably plumped lips, the women’s faces and bodies—and the debate that swirls around them—have become some of the sisters’ biggest assets, helping to keep them in the spotlight and offering an image around which they’ve built lucrative product brands.
For years, the fascination surrounding the Kardashian and Jenners’ appearances has been fueled by the sisters’ coyness. While so…
Warning: This post contains spoilers for The Mandalorian season 3 finale.
With the help of a united Mandalorian front, Grogu’s Force training, and a few nerve-wracking last-second saves, the season 3 finale of The Mandalorian saw Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff), and their fellow Mandalorian warriors finally put an end to Moff Gideon’s (Giancarlo Esposito) reign of terror and retake their home planet of Mandalore.
“Chapter 24: The Return” picked up right where the previous episode left off, with Bo-Katan rallying the Mandalorians against Moff Gideon and his troopers. Meanwhile, Grogu was busy utilizing his new IG-12 mech suit to free Din Djarin from Imperial clutches. This led to Di…
More than 18,000 Etsy sellers have pledged to join a strike protesting a 30% increase in fees that takes effect today.
In a petition signed by nearly 50,000, the organizers are demanding that Etsy CEO Josh Silverman cancel the fee increase to 6.5% from 5%. About 18,400 people who signed the petition as of Monday afternoon identify themselves as sellers, the method organizers are using to track participants. They are asking sellers to go on vacation mode and buyers to boycott the crafts website from April 11 through 18.
According to Etsy’s website, sellers can start a shop for free but must pay fees for listing, transactions and payment processing. The company last raised transaction fees in 2018 to 5% from 3.5%. Meanwhile, Etsy’s shares have quadrupled in the las…
Ten years ago, on November 15, Occupy Wall Street was pepper-sprayed into the night by a squadron of police officers who helped shovel the tents, books, and placards left by activists into a fleet of sanitation trucks. A messy, motley, and spirited demonstration, Occupy started as a march of some 2,000 people in lower Manhattan that mushroomed to approximately 1,000 similar protests across the country. It seized enough media coverage to appear like a moment in the making, as it amplified outrage over America’s skewed distribution of wealth and opportunity.
And yet, as quickly as it started, it was gone within 59 days.
In the decade since its demise, scores of observers—and even participants—have said Occupy Wall Street fell short. Pundits including New …
Beneath the very public collapse of Adidas AG’s multibillion-dollar sneaker deal with Ye is a private legal battle over a $100 million-a-year marketing fund.
The fund, from which Adidas claims the rapper diverted $75 million, has come to the fore as the two sides trade accusations behind closed doors over the partnership that imploded last year, sending the German apparel maker reeling.
Details of the dispute, which is being conducted through an arbitrator, had been closely guarded until they were accidentally revealed in a related hearing in May, when the parties’ lawyers discussed them in open court. Bits and pieces of the conflict have also been seeping out in legal filings, including one in which Adidas alleges that the hiphop artist formerly known as Kanye W…
